Mindfulness

Mindfulness |

Mindfulness is a facutly of mind that we all possess, to varying degress, but often lays dormant within us because we have not been taught or trained to cultivate it and utilise it in our lives.

Mindfulness means recollection - to recall the mind back again and again to its point of focus when it becomes distracted, scattered, and lost in a state of chaos, confusion and dispair.

Developing Stability of Mind through the practice of mindfulness training is the first step towards changing patterns of thoughts and thinking processes that keep us stuck in life.

Have you ever wanted to change some aspect of your life, but somehow you find yourself repeating the same old patterns that give you the same old results?

This is because your mind have become habituated to certain patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviour, that becaome our programming mechanism. It is your programming mechanism that produces the results you experience, either positive or negative. You have programmed ourselves without realising it. You may want change but whatever programming is running in the background will override and you will experience the same result.

Developing Stability of Mind through the practice of mindfulness training develops your ability to see, with greater clarity, the automatic and habitual programmes that are running your life - enabling you to change the ones that are holding you back.

TESTIMONIALS:

I would highly recommend this course to anyone. I had done a course prior to this one but just could not engage with it or take it on board. This course has been life changing for me and I will continue to practice what I have been taught. This course has really worked for me – Thank you

To stop the white noise in my head has been tremendous and my awareness of my thought patterns that create the same old negative narrative has been liberating for me. I now know that I was just running the same old programme which produced the same old outcome. I now cut these thoughts off at their root. I feel so more in control of my life.

This has been an excellent course and I can see how I can use it in all aspects of my life. I am less reactive and more able to see different perspectives and make better choices. The Stop, Gap, Go practice has been hugely beneficial to ground and support me when I notice negative thoughts patterns returning. Thank you so much Geraldine.

Mindlessness |

Mindlessness is a state of mind that can be likened to a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, where focus and clarity are elusive. In this state, the mind becomes overwhelmed by a barrage of internal dialogue, leading to a sense of disconnection from ourselves, the people in our lives and the world around us. It often manifests as a preoccupation with past regrets or future anxieties, creating a cycle of worry that prevents genuine engagement with life as it unfolds, impedes personal and professional growth, leaving us feeling trapped with no control over our lives.

Mindlessness is a state of mind where there is no stability of mind or cognitive flexibility. It is a mind simply blown about by automatic and habitual reactive emotional states. A mind like this has no ability to choose because it has become habituated and conditioned to work this way – we have programmed ourselves with no awareness whatsoever this is happening.

When the mind is in a state of mindlessness, it often fixates on unproductive thoughts, conjuring up fears or narratives that do not serve us well. This can lead to a distorted perception of reality, where anxious thoughts dominate and drown out the more constructive or calming aspects of our consciousness. The inability to remain grounded often pushes individuals to reach for external validations or fixating on future achievements in a bid to find contentment.

This mindless state is so common these days, with the constant digital stimulation, information overload, and habitual worry and anticipation. The mind is constantly pulled in multiple directions leading to the mindstates of distraction, scattered focus, obsessive thought patterns, rumination, anxious forecasting, and the overall lack of presence and contentment.

Mindlessness is a chaotic mental state. It is a state characterized by:

Distraction and Scatteredness: The mind jumps from one thought to another, unable to focus on any single thing for long.

Confusion and Lack of Clarity: Thoughts become jumbled and unclear, making it difficult to understand or process information.

Fictitious Narratives and Fear-Based Thinking: The mind creates stories that may or may not be true, often leading to fear and anxiety.

Dwelling on the Past or Future: The mind fixates on past events or worries about future possibilities, neglecting the present moment.

Emotional Reactivity: Strong emotions, like fear or hope, can hijack the mind and lead to impulsive actions or negative thoughts patterns.

Analytical Overdrive: The mind gets stuck in a loop of analysis and criticism, trying to fix things through sheer willpower, often leading to frustration and anxiety.

This state of mind is detrimental to our well-being, leading to toxic stress, anxiety, burnout and depression.  And to decreased productivity through disengagement, procrastination and loss of self agency.

Developing stability of mind through the practice of mindfulness helps us to disentangle from the chaotic web of thoughts, feelings and emotions that drive our lives. When this happens it then becomes possible to navigate life with greater ease and resilience, with a heightened sense of purpose and direction, to live a life based on conscious choice rather than allowing the automatic, habitual, limiting paradigm to be in the drivers seat.

Mindlessness is an unruly state of mind, lost in the mind stream of thoughts, scattered and distracted like a ship without a sail.  There is no stability of mind, you are at the mercy of your conditioned, habitual patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that keep you stuck.
